Author Sandi Gold was told by five neurologists she had less than a year to live. Decades later, her oncologist insisted that she have a mastectomy. She declined and with no doctor’s help – just five months later – was cancer-free. Exactly how she accomplished this is explained in her new book, I Chose Love: How to Thrive After a Life-threatening Illness Using Love to Guide You. Emmy-winning journalist, and New York Times best-selling author Catherine Crier wrote, brief encounter can impact the rest of your life. A few days with Sandi, when she faced her terminal diagnosis, forever altered my perspectives on life, death, love, and the meaning we impart to our time on earth” The foreword is written with Dr. Bernie Siegel who called Sandi “a survivor and thriver.”

Her book launch is from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on December 6 in the Hoxie Gallery in the Westerly Library. She painted the painting on her cover which will be bid on by silent auction this same night. When this painting sells (Bidding will end at 6:45.), Sandi will donate 50% to Sails Up 4 Cancer. Sandi will also have T-Shirts, sweatshirts and even onesies, mugs, and posters for sale on her website – sandigold.com. Each will have a photo of her book cover on it. From December 6th through February 14th Sandi is donating 10% from all these sales to Sails Up 4 Cancer too.

Sandi will be available to answer questions at her book launch, at her “Author’s Talk” in the library on January 13th and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00 a.m. to noon at the Fresh Cup Café, 9 East Street, Westerly, RI beginning December 11, where books may also be purchased.
